Luton have released an official statement following the collapse of Tom Lockyer on the field. Which led to the cancellation of the game between Bournemouth and Luton football midway through.
Players from both teams were escorted off the field by referee Simon Hooper and after the game was stopped for around 30 minutes. Bournemouth’s doctors confirmed the good news that Lockyer was alert and responsive.
Lockyer, who had previously collapsed in the finals of a playoff game earlier this year. Falls to the ground by himself in the 62nd minute of a game in which Bournemouth and Luton are tied at 1-1.

Luton Football Club released a statement afterwards saying:
“We all hope and pray for our leader and captain, Tom Lockyer, who responded well and has been taken to the hospital.”
“We don’t know what happened or what the next steps will be. But we would like to thank Bournemouth and both sides’ medical teams for their immediate response. Which is amazing.”
“We are sorry to all the football fans. Because the players on both teams did not have the courage to continue playing the game. After seeing their teammates and friends they loved so much have to leave like this. And the team couldn’t manage to keep the game playing. In this kind of situation, we have to deal with the situation.”
